Nestled on 30-acres in Beattyville, Kentucky, Heavenly Hideaway is lovingly maintained and thoughtfully designed for nature lovers seeking peaceful seclusion. Andy and Angela Hartman are the owners of Heavenly Hideaway, and enjoy their time there with their two boys, David and Jonathan, and dog Shiloh. Andy is from a small town in Mantua, Ohio and Angela is from Bardstown, KY. They met at Campbellsville University and now reside in Louisville, KY. We are so thankful to have partnered with the Hartman Family.  Let’s take a closer look at what they love most about the Red River Gorge and their home-away-from-home.

Louisville is only around a two-hour drive to Red River Gorge and Heavenly Hideaway, so the Hartman Family is never far from their beautiful, remote, slice of heaven! They have been traveling to Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge as a weekend getaway for many years. Their cozy cabin serves as their adventure headquarters as they explore new areas in eastern Kentucky each time they visit.  When they aren’t staying here, they are kind enough to share this beautiful setting with family, friends and guests!

The Hartman’s ideal day in the Gorge will have you daydreaming of your next trip!  Traveling from Louisville, they like to make a stop at Natural Bridge State Park.  Beginning the hike all the way to the top of Natural Bridge, which is a little over two miles, there is much beauty and nature to soak in. The Natural Bridge State Park is lush with Hemlocks, Rhododendrons, White Pines, Dwarf Iris, and so much more. After a pretty steep hike, they can finally breathe in the spectacular view of Natural Bridge, a beautiful natural wonder.

After some quality family time in nature, it is time to head to the cabin. But the fun doesn’t end there! Heavenly Hideaway is equipped with several outdoor games, inside games, books, and so much more.  Head outside and soak in the sun, or partake in a friendly cornhole or horseshoe competition with the family! There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy – and don’t forget your pup who will love the space to run!  Heavenly Hideaway is pet-friendly so no member of your crew has to be left behind.

Wrap up the day by watching the sunset, reading on the screened-in patio, or soaking in the hot tub on the private deck. However you decide to spend your day, it will be in the most peaceful, serene area of Beattyville.

Too often, a rainy day can really spoil a great cabin getaway. But at Heavenly Hideaway, rain or shine, you are bound to have a great time. The Hartman’s have equipped the cabin with so many fun things to do on a rainy day! Their favorite is of course enjoying the hot tub with the rain (or snow) coming down. But if that isn’t your style, they have provided some of their favorite books at the cabin for you to enjoy. Board Games like checkers, Yahtzee, Trivia and Backgammon can really get the family connected and create everlasting memories even on those rainy days.

So what’s their favorite part about Heavenly Hideaway? For Andy, it is difficult to choose between hiking on the trails, watching the boys run around and play outside, relaxing in the hot tub, or warming by the wood stove in the winter. The best may just be watching the amazing sunsets from the porch. If you ask Angela, her favorites would be reading a good book on the enclosed back porch with her coffee, and watching the wide variety of birds eating from the birdfeeder (and if you’re lucky, you’ll see deer in the backyard).

Why did the Hartmans choose to partner with StayOver?
Andy and Angela knew they needed a great, local, management company to care for their cabin and guests, even when they were away. Their top priorities were trust and communication.  After completing the process of purchasing their cabin with the help of Real-Estate Agent and StayOver CEO, Derek Blankenship, they felt they’d found their match.
As Andy says, “It just seemed perfect to sign a contract with StayOver to manage our cabin. They have been fantastic and our guests have nothing but great things to say about them!”

It is an absolute pleasure to hear how much the Hartman family loves their cabin, Heavenly Hideaway, and how much they truly care about the area. We are so honored they have chosen to partner with StayOver and share their beautiful cabin with our guests.
