Step into 'Campfire Cabin' at Fern Valley, formerly known as 'Poptart' and obtain true peace and serenity directly on the Red River! Head over to Nada Tunnel, Gateway to The Gorge, approximately 10 minutes away and enjoy all of the hiking and climbing opportunities that Red River Gorge has to offer. Campfire Cabin offers a luxurious take on camping cabins with a full bathroom, TV, kitchen and covered deck. This wonderful little cabin has all of the essentials and will leave money in your wallet for numerous adventures. 'Campfire Cabin' and 'Sleepy Bear Cabin' are neighboring cabins that feature identical layouts, perfect for your small adventure group to get-away and still enjoy some privacy!

Be sure to keep an eye on this property as the new owners plan to continue some great renovations!

-- KEY RESIDENCE FEATURES –
- Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, charcoal grill, flat-screen TV (DVD player only), full bathroom and more! (Fire pit: personal fire ring 'bowl' at your cabin and a communal fire pit across the road.)
- Please note: Very limited cell service and no WiFi connection. Entertainment is DVD player.
- Studio Sleeping Arrangements: Full Bed and Twin Bunk Beds
- One full bathroom
- Fresh linens and towels. Essential Starter Packs to make your stay easier! (Includes 2 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towels, 3 shampoos/3 conditioners, 3 bar soaps, 3 trash bags, 1 sponge). You will also need to bring your own firewood and charcoal for the grill. Please purchase firewood locally!
- This cabin is located on a property with two other cabins (Sleepy Bear Cabin and Restful River).
- 4WD is highly recommended in inclement weather and a car is required. Trailers Prohibited. 
-  Prime Red River Gorge location - Approximately 10 minutes to Nada Tunnel and Natural Bridge State Park. Close to hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lines, sight-seeing, restaurants, and much more!

- Check-in begins at 4 pm. Check-out is 11 am. Please do not arrive early or depart late unless arranged directly with us.
- No smoking (outside only) 
- Dogs permitted with additional $100 fee. (Dogs only; maximum 2 allowed. Dogs need to be crated if left at the property alone.) Please check that you are bringing a pet during booking process for fee to be applied.
- No events, parties or large gatherings
- Must be at least 18 years old to book

- Photo ID may be required upon check-in

Studio Sleeping Arrangements: Full Bed & Twin Bunk Beds

Take a seat on the covered porches and enjoy what nature has to offer. Allow the song of the wild to serenade you while sitting by the crackling fire pit outside. You can choose to use your personal fire ring 'bowl', or use the communal fire pit area across the street. (All cabins on property will have access to this communal area: Sleepy Bear Cabin, Campfire Cabin and Restful River.)

You'll find cooking to be a breeze with the fully stocked kitchen, fire pit and charcoal grill. Baking pizza, fireside steaks or charcoal kissed burgers are all possibilities at Campfire Cabin. Head across the road to the Red River and tempt your hand at fishing or take a leisurely walk!

You'll find this area to be a prime location, mere minutes from all of the famous, local attractions. Are you looking for Miguel's Pizza, Nada Tunnel Road or Natural Bridge State Park? You'll find these options and more all within a 15-minute drive from your cabin.

Endless hiking and rock climbing opportunities can be found in the surrounding area. With so much tranquility surrounding this home, you’re sure to feel rejuvenated by the end of your vacation.

While you’ll love relaxing at the cozy cabin, you’ll still want to venture out and take advantage of this home’s amazing location. Be sure to check out the Red River Gorge Scenic Byway! Drive through to see the Red River, countless varieties of trees, flowers, plants, and outcroppings of rocks – or stop to hike or catch sight of deer, turkeys and other wildlife. For a memorable experience, hike to the famous swinging bridge over the Red River, located upriver from the Jump Rock and Swimming Hole.

The famous Nada Tunnel entrance to the Red River Gorge is approximately 15 minutes away from the property, so be sure to head that way for countless hiking trails, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sight-seeing, bird-watching and numerous opportunities for photography!

Natural Bridge State Resort Park features the Natural Bridge, a million-years-old sandstone arch, which is accessible by hiking up and down the huge mountain or by taking a slow, easy ride on the sky lift. For water activities, like fishing, kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding, make your way to nearby Mill Creek Lake.

See the mountains from a whole new perspective when you go zip lining over the treetops for a challenging thrill in Cliffview, or drive through the Gorge to the family-friendly zip line spot in Frenchburg, where everyone from kids to grandpa can have a ball!

If you’re looking for even more thrills, visit Southeast Mountain Guides for world-famous rock climbing and rappelling! Both offer lessons and guided climbs.

Kids will love the Reptile Zoo in nearby Slade. New to Thrillsville in 2017 is kayaking through the 100-year-old limestone cave and putt-putt golf that kids and even the grandparents will enjoy.

If you love horseback riding, Whispering Valley Riding Trails is just a short-drive away in Beattyville, where you will see waterfalls, ponds, rock outcroppings as you ride under the canopy of trees. The views are sure to be amazing!

Great restaurants are also nearby! Be sure to check out Miguel’s Pizza, a classic restaurant that has been around for 30 years, Red River Rockhouse, a newer restaurant owned by relatives of Miguel's Pizza, Red Point BBQ, Hop's, and La Cabana just to name a few!

The hosts will do all they can to assist but are not responsible for issues beyond their control. Mechanical problems may occur that cannot be resolved quickly in this remote area and no refunds are made if this occurs, per the terms of our rental agreement.  Enjoy the many other amenities, beautiful surroundings and area adventures during your stay. Pets Only Allowed at Pet-Friendly Cabins. Pets brought to Pet-friendly Cabins must be paid for in advance or at time of booking. No pets are permitted in or on the Rental Unit, unless the Rental Unit is Pet-Friendly. A Minimum of $350.00 per pet will be charged to the Guest for pets brought to non-pet-friendly cabins or for pets that were not pre-approved. Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change and you must cancel or reschedule your stay.  A $50 cancellation fee applies to all cancellations, and no refunds are allowed within 14 days or less of your booked check-in date.  We will work with you to re-schedule your dates if your check-in date is greater than 14 days away.  No refunds are permitted due to sudden inclement winter weather – but come anyway and get snowed in with us! We will accommodate late checkouts if roads are hazardous on your departure day. Please be aware that no refunds are permitted for cancellations on holiday rates, which includes but is not limited to, New Year’s, Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. For a the possibility of a full refund, you will be given the option to purchase renters insurance during the booking process, or you can contact us directly to apply.
