Patrick enjoys spending time outdoors with his family of four. Whether hiking, climbing, boating, fishing or something in between, you can find him outdoors when he is not busy buying, selling and renting real estate for his family’s established real estate rental business, Carter Company. Years of real estate investing experience coupled with a decade and a half of executive management focused on clients, growth, and development has now afforded him the opportunity to help launch another dream, StayOver.

Jeff is a life-long outdoor enthusiast who has traveled and hiked, climbed, biked, and paddled extensively, in and out of the country. As someone who appreciates nature, and all its offerings, Jeff is excited to offer StayOver’s services to those wanting a first-class vacation rental experience in a natural area.
He brings over thirty years of successful experience as a business executive and business owner to StayOver as its Executive Chairman. Jeff is committed to the satisfaction of our customers and wants every customer to have the ability to enjoy great accommodations in nature’s beautiful playground.
Co-Founder and CEO
Derek is a Land Specialist and the Owner of Overland Properties Group, where he works with buyers and sellers to find their slice of nature heaven. Derek feels a rush of excitement exploring new properties and helping his nature-loving clients find the perfect property for their needs. He is a husband and father of two. In his spare-time, Derek enjoys rock climbing, skiing, overlanding, dirt-bike racing and mountain biking.
He is passionate about ensuring StayOver’s cabin owners and guests receive the highest quality of service, through maximizing land to reach its fullest potential and achieving a consistent level of service throughout each experience.
Manager of Human Resources and Operations
Lauren is a Human Resources Leader, animal-lover, and outdoor enthusiast. In her spare time, she enjoys bluegrass music, kayaking, long drives, and craft beer. Lauren’s focus is on bringing an innovative approach to Human Resource Management while creating a team-driven environment that fosters room for development and growth. As the main point of contact for the StayOver family, she strives to win with integrity. She values the importance of picking up on the small things, taking uninterrupted time for each Guest and Owner and responding to requests in a timely manner with passion, courtesy, and respect.
Kathi has been in real estate for 15 years and brings her knowledge and experience to the team with several designations. Kathi is a licensed broker in Kentucky and also holds her real-estate license in Florida. For the past two years she was the transaction coordinator with a large real estate team in Florida where she handled all the details of the transaction from contract to closing. Prior to that she was the principal broker of a RE/MAX office supervising and mentoring 10 agents as well as working with her own clients.
Kathi’s attention to detail keeps our team running smoothly so the agents can concentrate on serving the clients needs. She is a dedicated professional and her passion is helping people. With 3 grown sons and 2 grandsons she stays busy when she’s not at the helm of Overland Properties.
Hunter has a deep-rooted love for the outdoors. As an avid sportsman, you can typically find Hunter hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, playing airsoft, or kayaking with his wife and dog. He doesn’t let the small pleasures in life slip away, you may even find him relaxing in his hammock or crafting walking sticks.
With over a decade of established customer service, management, and sales experience; Hunter’s passion is ensuring every guest has all their wants and needs met. He is extremely driven and has an eye for small details. His goal is for your stay to be the most enjoyable and memorable experience you’ve ever had.
Guest Services Coordinator
New to the Stayover team in 2019, Leah is a transplant from Wisconsin and an EKU graduate with a passion for local flora and fauna. She manages a small hobby farm in Powell County, and spends much of her free time volunteering with the local pet rescue, and fostering animals in need of special care.
Leah’s past eight years in customer service, management, and Airbnb hosting have given her the tools to internalize the experience of every guest, anticipate their needs, and treat each with the individualized care they deserve. She knows that everyone works hard to make their dream vacation a reality, and strives to make every minute of it worth remembering.
Social Media Coordinator
Brennah is an adventurer at heart with a deep passion for nature and animals. You can typically find her hiking, kayaking, hanging in a hammock, or engrossed in a book. All while spending quality time with her husband and two dogs.
She is devoted to updating you on the latest information here at StayOver and Red River Gorge. She expresses her enthusiasm for the area by showing you what we see every day! Brennah brings eight years of customer service experience; she is fully equipped to provide every guest with the highest quality of service. Her intention is to provide guests with such a fantastic experience in Red River Gorge – you won’t want to vacation anywhere else!
