Everything to Know Before You Book a Cabin in Red River Gorge

StayOver is a locally operated cabin rental and property management company based in the heart of Kentucky's Red River Gorge. We manage a curated collection of fully-equipped cabins that put guests within minutes of the Gorge's most iconic trails, arches, overlooks, and climbing routes. Whether you're planning your first visit or your fifteenth, the questions below cover the practical details most travelers ask before booking.

If you don't see your question answered here, our team is available seven days a week — feel free to contact us and we'll respond within 24 hours, usually much sooner.

    Booking & Reservations

Every cabin is bookable instantly through our website with real-time availability and transparent pricing — no hidden fees, no waiting on responses. We accept all major credit cards through a secure Stripe-backed checkout, and your reservation is confirmed the moment payment is captured. Browse live availability and rates on our Red River Gorge cabin rentals page.

    Check-In & Check-Out

Standard check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. All cabins use a self-check-in lockbox or smart-lock system, so you can arrive on your own schedule without coordinating a hand-off. Detailed driving directions, lock codes, and Wi-Fi credentials are emailed the morning of your arrival.

    Pets & Family-Friendly Stays

Many of our cabins are pet-friendly with a small per-pet fee — use the "Pet-friendly" filter on the booking page to see only those listings. Most properties comfortably accommodate families and groups; bedroom counts, sleeping arrangements, and maximum occupancy are listed on every property page.

    Amenities & What to Expect

Most cabins feature hot tubs, wood-burning or gas fireplaces, full kitchens, fast Wi-Fi, smart TVs with streaming, and private decks with forest or ridge views. Linens, towels, and starter consumables (coffee, soap, paper goods) are always provided so you can arrive empty-handed. See the things to do guide for nearby trails and attractions.

    Cancellations & Changes

Each property has its own cancellation policy displayed clearly on the booking page before you confirm. Most allow a full refund when canceled at least seven days before check-in. To request a date change, simply reach out to our team and we'll do our best to accommodate based on availability.

Cell Service, Power & Practical Details

Cell coverage in the Gorge is spotty — Verizon and AT&T work at most cabins, but plan for limited service on the trails. Every cabin has reliable Wi-Fi, full electricity, and modern plumbing. Stock up on groceries before you arrive: Stanton (about 20 minutes) has the closest full Kroger, and Campton has a Dollar General. Read our seasonal packing guide for more.
