Leave No Trace

Our team at StayOver follows and promotes the principles of Leave No Trace.  We absolutely love nature and want to preserve it!  We firmly believe that everyone should know and follow the Leave No Trace principles. StayOver would love for all our guests, family, and friends to follow these guidelines – and lead by example!

Leave No Trace is not just a principle/guideline – Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics (LNTCOE) is an organization that strives to preserve nature. This organization was built and founded to provide innovative education, skills, and research to the public to preserve and care for the outdoors.

LNTCOE created The 7 Principles basing its roots in the backcountry setting. However, they have adapted these principles to accommodate nature everywhere from the wilderness to local parks, and even your backyard.  The 7 Principles, while widely known, are not static.  LNTCOE consistently examines, evaluates, and reshapes the 7 Principles based on the latest insights from biologists, land managers, and other leaders in outdoor education. Currently, The 7 Principles are as follows:

  1. Plan Ahead & Prepare
  2. Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  3. Dispose of Waste Properly
  4. Leave What You Find
  5. Minimize Campfire Impacts
  6. Respect Wildlife
  7. Be Considerate of Other Visitors

The team at StayOver encourages everyone to educate themselves further on The 7 Principles that Leave No Trace continues to develop and reshape. These Principles are ever-changing and help outdoor enthusiasts, like us, become one with nature and “leave no footprint” on our adventures!
